Frugal Gardening Tips

Save any old cardboard egg tray cartons, these can be used to grow seedlings. They are particularly effective because they are already divided into individual planting sized cells.

You will first need to remove the lid of the carton, then poke a hole into the bottom of each cell using a pencil or similar. Pop the lid underneath to create a drainage tray and fill each cell three quarters full with a good quality multi purpose compost and you are ready to plant your seeds.
