Dahlia Vancouver

Product ref: BR76299

Availability: In stock

'Vancouver' is a gorgeous decorative type Dahlia. In mid-summer, it produces very large (some up to 20cms across!) blooms right up until first frosts. The white borders of this Dahlia's petals, look as though the flower is edged in a delicate frost, a truly elegant plant and one of our favourites. The white edging contrasts beautifully with the vibrant, fuchsia violet blooms and 'Vancouver' will steal the show at the back or middle of the border where it will grow to a max height of around 90cms. Provides exceptional cut-flowers too, where just 3 big blooms are enough to fill a vase!

This plant is supplied as a single tuber. Best time to plant is in April. To plant them, dig a hole at least 20-30cm square and around 20-30cm deep for each one. Cover the base of the hole with 10cms of compost, or manure and give it a good dousing with a full watering can and then plant the dahlia at a depth of 15cms. Plant in a sunny spot and keep moist yet well-drained. It will need to be lifted in winter - once the foliage dies back simply dig it up and store in a cool, frost free location.

IF ORDERING EARLY, PLEASE NOTE THAT WE SHIP THIS ITEM BETWEEN MARCH & THE END OF APRIL TO ENSURE IT ARRIVES IN PRISTINE CONDITION, AT THE IDEAL PLANTING TIME.
