Callistemon sieberi Widdicomb Gem - Yellow Bottlebrush

Product ref: S15715

Availability: In stock

A wonderfully long flowering bottlebrush plant. With a bushy habit, this evergreen is sure to steal the show in spring with its instantly recognisable ‘bottlebrush’ flowers, continuing into summer. The densely packed spikes of creamy-yellow flowers are an excellent source of nectar for birds and insects.

Although native to Australia, the Callistemon is now typical of Mediterranean gardens, also brilliant in borders, pots or even an alternative hedging. A plant of strong disease and pest resistance.

These plants are supplied in approx. 5 litre containers.

+ -

This plant is best positioned in full sun in a sheltered location, with a south or west facing aspect. It can handle a range of soil types, doing best in acidic or neutral soil which is moist but well-drained.

A low maintenance plant with little or no pruning required. If choosing to keep your plant compact, an annual trim in spring will keep it healthy and in check. Any dead and damaged branches should also be removed.

An annual mulch after pruning will supress any competing weeds, hold down moisture for summer and add organic matter to the soil.
