Panicum Prairie Sky - Large Blue Switch Grass

This Sky Blue Prairie switch grass forms clumps of striking foliage and stems that really do have a blue hue, the stems become topped with delicate airy flowerheads in summer, which helps this variety combine well with a wide range of late summer flowering perennials.

In late evening, the tiny silvery flower heads seem to dance above the foliage as the drift and billow in the slighted breeze. Winter foliage and seed heads develop an attractive sandy brown colouration. This handsome grass thrives in a prairie type setting, or in sunny a garden, doing well on moist or dry soils.
