Laburnum anagyroides - Golden Chain Tree - 170-190cm

Product ref: T21013

Availability: Out of stock

A small deciduous tree that has for generations bridged the transition from spring to summer with its eye-catching floral display.

In spring new shoots are grey green in appearance and the foliage makes the perfect backdrop for the incredible hanging racemes of golden yellow flowers that cloak the whole tree from late spring to early summer. They are a show stopping sight in every way.

Laburnums are happiest in a sunny spot and this tree will gradually reach around eight metres but will have a spread of half. They are resilient plants which grow in all soils but maybe avoid a north facing aspect. An annual mulch of compost in early spring is good practise. Use this tree as a specimen plant in a cottage style border or if you have the space why not grow the traditional way by planting a few and train them on a pergola, encouraging the flowers to cascade over a pathway.

Supplied in approx 10 litre nursery pots with a stem height of around 80cm and overall height including pot of approximately 170-190cm.
