This Cercis is an incredibly beautiful tree with golden heart-shaped leaves, hence the name. In the spring, the leaves grow in orange-red and mature into gold-yellow. The gorgeous foliage isn’t the only appeal, however, as small purple flowers cover the branches in the spring before the foliage grows back in, making for a really beautiful display.

This tree can be grown in any soil type as long as it is well-drained. It loves full sun to help it achieve its golden colour and will grow well in exposed or sheltered conditions. When autumn rolls around, prepare to be dazzled once again, as temperatures drop the leaves often hue through amber, orange, scarlet and back to buttery yellow prior to falling for winter.
