Giant Flowered Hydrangea Avant Garde - Worlds Largest Hydrangea

This recently introduced Hydrangea variety, takes the prize as the variety with the largest sized flower heads of any Hydrangea on the planet! It's a new type of long-flowering Hydrangea that can be kept in doors as a houseplant in a bright position for many weeks, with its truely enormous bloom on show, before making its way to live outside in the garden on a permanent basis.

Supplied as pictured, Avant Garde is unmistakable once you see it and characterised by its deep green leaves and huge umbel of flowers with a minimum diameter of 30cm. Our plants have Huge Flower Heads, around 40cm across at their seasonal peak, and look very dramatic.

The flower is white at first, and then becomes a very light pink colour. When the mop head is fully in bloom, it will not weaken or fall, but become a green colour, and finally it will often age to a dramatic autumnal red shade. When the flower is removed, a new flower appears after a few weeks, so you can enjoy Avant Garde continually through the year.Each spectacular bloom remains for over 2 months, changing colour through shades of white, pink and finally lime green. Strong stems make these stunning hydrangea flowers ideal for displaying indoors, which is why we selected it as one of our top gifts for Mothers Day and have some plants specially grown. Once planted in the garden it will form an eye-catching shrub for borders or large patio containers. The Enormous blooms will cover sturdy multi-branched plants, but if you remove side branches and grow as a single stem, the blooms get even larger.
