The large wine-red flowers of this woodland perennial appear from April to July. They are held above ferny, grey-green foliage. Plants do best in a shady, moist spot. Unlike like many other dicentras, they do not enjoy chalky soil. Be careful when handling the foliage as it may irritate the skin. To propagate, divide plants in spring. The Royal Horticultural Society have given it their prestigious Award of Garden Merit. Supplied in approx 2-3 litre containers.
