Rhododendron Nova Zembla - Rhododendron Hybrid

Rhododendron 'Nova Zembla' is a wonderful, evergreen shrub. A dense-growing plant with broad, green leaves that will set it apart from shrubs with finer foliage. Produces simply stunning clusters of scarlet-red, trumpet shaped flowers from mid-Spring. As the flowers mature they tend to form a dark-red spotting in the middle of them, which only serves to heighten the attractiveness of 'Nova Zembla'. Forming quite large clusters, the flowers are truly superb and will cover the plant during Spring and early Summer.

Low maintenance, easy-to-grow and fully hardy, it is no wonder that Rhododendrons are a staple in many UK gardens. Keep this plant moist, yet-well drained and it will really thrive in rich, acidic soils. A superb choice to use as an accent shrub or even planted en masse as informal hedging/screening. Will grow to a max height and spread of around 150cms in 10 years. Requires minimal pruning, simply remove faded flower heads after they have died off.
