Fragrant Heliotrope 'Marine'

Heliotrope is a marvellous plant with a fabulous, distinctive scent - some day it's reminiscent or cherry pie, whilst others liken it to vanilla. Either way, Heliotrope is one of the most attractive plants you could grow for a special perfume.

A richly coloured flowering annual admired for its intense fragrance and velvety blooms, Heliotrope 'Marine' produces large clusters of violet-purple flowers. Renowned for its sweet vanilla-like scent, the blooms, which last from early summer to autumn, are highly attractive to pollinators. A wonderful addition to borders, patio containers and pollinator-friendly planting schemes.

Thriving in fertile, well-drained soil in a warm, sunny and sheltered position, Heliotrope performs best with regular watering during dry weather. Deadheading faded flowers and lightly trimming stems will encourage continuous blooming and maintain a neat habit. A superb choice for adding luxurious colour and perfume to the garden all season long.
