Seasonal Dispatch Update

As plant welfare is our priority, we may occasionally delay dispatches during periods of extreme heat to prevent plants from spending unnecessary time in transit. Combined with increased demand during our busiest season, this may result in slightly longer dispatch times than normal. We also operate reduced hours during severe heatwaves to protect the health and wellbeing of our team. Thank you for your patience and understanding.



Delivery Costs

Delivery is FREE ON ALL ORDERS OVER £295 in value for all deliveries throughout the UK mainland only (not including Northern Ireland).

Standard Delivery: £6.99 average dispatch time is 5-10 working days, but please allow up to 10-15 working days for dispatch during peak season/around public holidays when couriers do not operate and we are unable ship.

Standard delivery is just 6.99 for all deliveries throughout the UK mainland only (not including Northern Ireland) regardless of order size, unless you qualify for free delivery.


Exclusions & Conditions

Unfortunately, due to customs regulations and shipping capabilities, we are unable to deliver to the following regions: Northern Ireland, The Republic of Ireland, The Isle of Wight or the Scottish Highlands or Scottish Offshore Islands.

We are also unable to deliver to BFPO and PO Box addresses due to the extra time plants are in transit.

Placing an order constitutes acceptance of these Exclusions and Conditions in addition to our other policies and terms of trade throughout the site. Gardening Express cannot be held liable for any issues arising related to any delay with order delivery. (It helps a great deal if you do add your mobile phone number to your contact details when ordering as it means that couriers can send you updates by text message as well as being able to contact you.)


Delivery Times

Our current average Dispatch time is approx. 5-10 working days for all items in stock/season, but please allow up to 10-15 working days for dispatch during peak season/around public holidays when couriers do not operate and we are unable ship.

In the past we used to allow ordering of some items on the site in advance of their delivery season so that the plants could be dispatched at the appropriate planting time. However we have now discontinued with this except for a few items (see Pre-Orders info below), therefore if you see it on the site, you can either order it for immediate delivery or if it's not available you will have the option to be notified as soon as an item comes in to stock.

Alternatively you may like to add any out of stock items to your wish list within your account. So unlike other sites who'll take your order and money months in advance with no visibility on delivery, if you spot something you like the look of, you can order with confidence that it will arrive within a few days. Pre-Order items

On certain occassions, we may from time to time offer a small number of seasonal items that are in high demand on a PRE-ORDER basis, however, these are very minimal, and will be clearly indicated throughout the website with their specific delivery times published. Any other items ordered at the same time as these will normally ship out in advance of the PRE-ORDER item. Pre-Order items are usually very special plants with limited supply and high demand, giving you the chance to get them before they run out, or items such as Christmas Tree when you want to get organised in advance and order up early.


Pallet Deliveries

Some larger orders may be delivered on a pallet. Where this applies, the courier will contact you directly to arrange a suitable delivery date and time slot. Please ensure that the contact details provided with your order are accurate. Pallet deliveries are made on a kerbside basis only. The driver will unload the pallet at the nearest safe and accessible point outside your property, but they are unable to move goods beyond this point or assist with unpacking.


Live Plant Deliveries

If your order contains live plants, it is important that someone is available to receive the delivery on the arranged date. Due to the perishable nature of live plants, couriers are generally unable to hold consignments for extended periods or rearrange delivery at short notice. Any delay in accepting delivery may result in the condition of the plants deteriorating. If you anticipate any issues with accepting delivery, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can discuss the available options before dispatch.
