Acer palmatum dissectum Seiryu

Product ref: S1L003

Availability: In stock

Acer palmatum dissectum 'Seiryu' is a truly exceptional Japanese maple. An award-winning variety with an upright growth habit and fine foliage on new red-tinted shoots. Its finely dissected, lacy green foliage emerges with a delicate reddish tint in spring, turning fresh green throughout summer before blazing into shades of gold, orange, and crimson in autumn. The upright, vase-shaped habit makes 'Seiryu' perfect for adding height and elegant structure to borders, courtyards, or as a focal point in smaller gardens.

This slow-growing variety forms a graceful silhouette, with arching branches that beautifully showcase the filigree leaves. It thrives in moist, well-drained, soil and prefers a sheltered spot in partial shade, although it will tolerate full sun in cooler regions if protected from strong winds. Low-maintenance and easy to grow, 'Seiryu' requires only minimal pruning, just remove any dead or crossing branches in winter or early spring to maintain its elegant shape.

Supplied at up to 60cm tall in approx. 2-3 litre containers.
