Agave Desmettiana - 30cm tall
Agave desmettiana is a distinct architectural succulent, admired for its elegant rosette of smooth, arching green leaves, subtly edged with pale margins. Reaching around 30cm tall, this compact variety brings a bold, sculptural presence to gravel gardens, sunny borders and contemporary patio containers. Unlike many agaves, its softer leaf edges and relatively spineless form make it a more garden-friendly choice while still delivering dramatic year-round structure. Its drought-tolerant nature and low-maintenance growth habit make it ideal for Mediterranean-style planting schemes and modern outdoor spaces.
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil, protecting from excessive winter wet. Water moderately during the growing season and allow the soil to dry between waterings. This versatile agave can also be grown indoors in a bright conservatory or sunny room, where its sculptural form makes an impressive houseplant feature. Ideal for pots, rockeries or dry borders, this is a superb statement plant that instantly adds exotic texture and contemporary style to the garden.
Supplied at around 30 cm tall in an approx 2 litre nursery pot.
