Allium atropurpureum - Pack of 20 Bulbs
Availability: In stock
Allium atropurpureum stands out with its deep purple umbels, made up of tightly packed star-shaped florets that bring texture and movement to mixed borders. This vertical allium complements softer perennials and grasses.
Flowering from late spring to early summer, this allium thrives in full sun and well-drained soil reaching 70-100cms tall in flower.
Plant the bulbs 15 cm deep and 10–15 cm apart. Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering, and leave the seedheads in place for added visual interest or dried arrangements. Long-lasting and low-maintenance, it’s a reliable feature in wildlife-friendly and modern planting schemes.
The flowers of this Allium are also edible, making a great addition to seasonal salads.
Supplied as a pack of 20 bulbs.
