Allium christophii - Star of Persia - Pack of 5 Bulbs

Product ref: BR23983

Availability: Out of stock

Huge globes of small star-shaped, pinkish-purple flowers appear in summer above narrow, grey-green leaves. In bloom these fabulous globes, up to 20cms (8 inches) across in diameter, have a lovely metallic sheen. They are a magnet for bees, and look great combined with herbaceous plants and grasses such as Sedum and Stipa. The faded flowerheads look great left in the border and are also useful for dried flower arrangements. Thriving in a sunny site, they look best positioned together in small groups among ornamental grasses, or as part of a Mediterranean scheme. Alliums look best planted between medium-sized herbaceous plants, which help to mask the strap-like leaves, which fade by the time the flowers appear.

Supplied as pack of 5 top quality bulbs.
