Allium Ostara
Availability: Out of stock
The charming bulbous perennial Allium 'Ostara' is prized for its spherical blooms and compact size. From late spring to early summer, a vivid display of numerous star-shaped, deep pink to purple florets is produced by each flower head. This allium variety is great for adding colour and architectural interest to borders, rock gardens, and container planting. Its neat, strap-like foliage disappears after flowering, which makes it a great partner for perennials with later blooms.
Plant in full sun to partially shaded, well-drained soil. During the growing season, water sparingly and let the soil dry out in between applications. Avoid conditions that are too wet, especially in the winter. Perfect for clustering or mixing with other spring-blooming plants and ornamental grasses.
The flowers of this Allium are also edible, making a great addition to seasonal salads.
Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
