Allium jesdianum 'Early Emperor' is a majestic ornamental allium that produces large, spherical heads of violet-purple star-shaped flowers. Blooming earlier than many other alliums, typically in late spring, its tall, sturdy stems make it perfect for adding height, structure, and early colour to garden borders. The flowers are long-lasting, bee-friendly, and ideal for cutting.
Plant bulbs 15 cm deep and 15–20 cm apart in a sunny, well-drained spot. 'Early Emperor' looks particularly amazing when combined with soft grasses, hardy geraniums, or late-flowering tulips. For a bold and layered effect, try pairing with alliums like 'Purple Sensation' or with white perennials to let its rich colour pop.
The flowers of this Allium are also edible, making a great addition to seasonal salads.

For best outcome, plant in well-drained soil in full sun position or partial shade. Plant in Autumn and to flower in Spring.
