Amelanchier canadensis Glennform
Availability: In stock
Also known as the ‘service berry’, this upright small tree or shrub earns its place in a garden setting for its seasonal attributes. It begins the growing season by producing masses of small white star shaped flowers breaking out all over the plants crown, followed by mid-green oblong leaves that make a handsome cloak throughout the summer before changing into stunning display of yellows and oranges at the climax of autumn. This Amelanchier also produces blue-black berries that are not for the human pallet but absolutely loved by garden birds.
This wonderful plant is a great specimen planting so give it pride of place in a garden. Amelanchier prefer a slightly acidic to neutral soil so those of you on a chalky substrate should plant one in a container. It is happy on an exposed site making it very versatile when it comes to planting in a garden. A seasonal mulch of decent organic matter in early spring is greatly appreciated.
Supplied in approx. 3-5 Litre containers.
