Availability: Out of stock

Aubergines are rewarding vegetable plants that combine ornamental beauty with generous harvests, making them a popular choice for home-grown produce. Organic Aubergine 'Rotonda Bianca Sfumata di Rosa' is a celebrated Italian heirloom variety producing large, rounded fruits with stunning blush-pink and lilac shading over creamy white skin. Harvested from mid-summer through to early autumn, the fruits typically reach 15cm long. Renowned for its mild, creamy flesh and delicate flavour, it is perfect for roasting, grilling or baking. An excellent choice for greenhouses, raised beds and vegetable patches, this elegant variety suits cottage, Mediterranean and traditional kitchen gardens.

Thriving in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil and a sheltered position with lots of sunshine, 'Rotonda Bianca Sfumata di Rosa' performs best with plenty of warmth and consistent moisture. Plant deeply into enriched soil after all danger of frost has passed, allowing adequate spacing between plants for good airflow. Keep plants well-watered during dry spells, particularly while flowers and fruits are developing, and apply a high-potash fertiliser throughout the growing season to encourage heavy cropping. Remove any damaged foliage as required and harvest fruits regularly to prolong production. Pick when the fruits are fully coloured, firm and glossy, before the skin begins to lose its sheen and the seeds mature.

Supplied in approx. 9cm pots.
