Aubergine Plant 'Turkish Orange'

Product ref: VEG28885

Availability: Out of stock

Aubergines are fascinating vegetable plants that offer both ornamental beauty and delicious harvests, making them excellent additions to productive gardens. Aubergine 'Turkish Orange' produces unusual, round fruits that mature from green to vibrant orange with decorative green striping. Ready to harvest from late summer into autumn, the fruits are approximately 5–10cm across and create a colourful display on compact plants reaching around 60cm tall. Best enjoyed roasted, stuffed or added to stews, this eye-catching variety is ideal for greenhouses and vegetable patches whilst complementing cottage and exotic-style gardens.

Thriving in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil and a very sunny, sheltered position, 'Turkish Orange' requires plenty of warmth for reliable cropping. Plant into rich soil once temperatures have risen and water consistently during dry spells. Apply a balanced fertiliser regularly throughout the season and remove any fading foliage to keep plants productive. Pick fruits as they colour fully and become firm, harvesting before they soften excessively for the best flavour and texture.

Supplied in approx. 9cm pots.
