Tall Sungold - Sunflower Seed Packet
Availability: In stock
A joyful blend of tall sunflowers that are suitable for every garden type. Sunflowers are relatively easy to grow and do well in beds and pots. Sunflowers are very long-lasting when used in the garden or as cut flowers, and they attract a variety of helpful insects. Their spent heads can also be used to feed birds over the winter.
Sow seeds directly into the ground in March, after the last frost, for flowering from June to October. Rake the surface to a fine texture and water thoroughly to enable proper seed germination. Germination normally takes about two weeks, and your sunflower plants should be spaced 30cm apart for maximum results. Alternatively, start in trays inside in February for earlier blooming. Prior to planting, enrich the soil with well-rotted manure. Choose a sheltered location, preferably against a garden wall, to guard against severe winds.
