Beet Plant - Leaf 'Perpetual Spinach' is an exceptionally productive and dependable variety from our hand-picked collection, producing smooth, tender green leaves with pale green stems that are ready for picking from late spring onwards and continue cropping well into autumn with regular harvesting. 'Perpetual Spinach' is perfect for steaming, soups and salads, but also works amazingly when planted in cottage gardens or decorative edible borders.
Thriving in full sun or partial shade, 'Perpetual Spinach' performs best in fertile, moisture-retentive yet well-drained soil and benefits from a reasonably sheltered position. Regular watering during dry weather helps maintain tender stems and lush foliage, while occasional feeding will support continuous cropping. Harvest outer leaves individually when young and tender, allowing the central crown to continue producing fresh growth. Companion planting with nasturtium and lavender can help deter pests while creating a healthy and productive growing space.
