Beet Plant - Leaf Rhubarb Chard

Product ref: VEG28802

Availability: In stock

Beet Plant - Leaf Rhubarb Chard is a striking and reliable variety from our hand-picked collection, producing deeply textured dark green leaves held on vivid ruby-red stems that can be harvested continuously from late spring until the first frosts. The colourful stems provide outstanding ornamental value throughout the growing season, while the foliage remains lush and productive for months. Rhubarb Chard is perfect for steaming, soups and colourful stir-fries, but also works amazingly when planted in cottage-style borders or raised kitchen gardens.

Thriving in full sun or partial shade, Rhubarb Chard performs best in fertile, moisture-retentive yet well-drained soil and benefits from a reasonably sheltered position. Regular watering during dry weather helps maintain tender stems and lush foliage, while occasional feeding will support continuous cropping. Harvest outer leaves individually when young and tender, allowing the central crown to continue producing fresh growth. Companion planting with nasturtium and lavender can help deter pests while creating a healthy and productive growing space.

Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
