Beta vulgaris 'Bull's Blood Scarletta' is a versatile beetroot variety known for its bright red foliage and sweet, tender roots. The stunning foliage provides visual appeal to vegetable beds and is delicious in salads when young, while the round roots have a deep, earthy flavour when roasted or boiled.
Grow in full sunlight in fertile, well-drained soil. Sow between spring and early summer, and keep it well-watered. For best flavour, harvest the leaves while they are young and the roots when they reach golf ball size. Plant alongside onions, lettuce, or nasturtiums to discourage pests and maximise space in a productive, bright kitchen garden.
Supplied in approx. 9cm pots.
