Magnolia Angel
Availability: In stock
A prestigious medium sized tree that announces the arrival of spring in style. It's a deciduous plant that reaches six metres plus over time.
Stunning creamy white flowers with upright petals and an almost water lily like in appearance appear from May to June; these beautiful flowers are also beautifully scented. As the flowers cover the crown of the tree, narrow ovate slightly downy leaves are produced. Come the autumn the leaves turn a decent yellow autumnal colour.
This Magnolia will grow well in most soils but will struggle on chalky soils, in an ideal world they prefer a rich well-draining soil. In particularly heavy soils dig in horticultural grit and compost when planting. Magnolias prefer to grow in sunshine but will tolerate partial shade.
To keep your Magnolia healthy, add a mulch of decent organic matter each spring. They require little pruning but do remove any dead or damaged wood in late winter. A good tip is to foliar feed in late spring and early summer.
Magnolias really are specimen plants and make excellent focal point in a garden.
Supplied as a 5 litre pot.
