English Marigold - Calendula officinalis 'Oopsy Daisy'
Calendula officinalis 'Oopsy Daisy' is a delightful dwarf annual producing masses of bright golden-orange and soft yellow daisy-like flowers from late spring through to autumn. Its compact, bushy habit and cheerful blooms make it perfect for borders, patio containers, cottage gardens and wildlife-friendly planting schemes. Rich in nectar, the flowers attract bees and other pollinators throughout the season, while the edible petals can be used to add colour to salads, cakes and summer drinks.
Growing to around 20-30cm in height, this easy-care variety flowers continuously with very little maintenance. Plant in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil for the best display. Regular deadheading will encourage a longer flowering season and keep plants looking tidy, although allowing some blooms to set seed may result in natural self-seeding the following year. Water during prolonged dry spells, particularly when grown in containers, and avoid overly wet or poorly drained soils. A light feed during the growing season can help promote even more blooms. Pair with nigella and eschscholzia for a vibrant cottage garden combination full of colour and pollinator appeal.
Supplied in approx 1 litre containers.
