Plant in a sunny, sheltered position in well-drained soil. Water regularly during the first growing season and during prolonged dry spells, especially in containers. Feed in spring and summer to encourage abundant flowering, remove spent blooms after flowering, and protect container-grown plants from severe winter frosts.

Plant in a bright, sunny position and keep the soil well watered during the growing season, particularly during warm, dry weather. Cannas enjoy fertile soil and benefit from regular feeding while actively growing. As this is a half-hardy perennial, protect it from frost. For the best displays year after year, lift the plant in autumn and store it in a dry, frost-free location before replanting in spring.
