Centaurea cyanus Victoria (Blue Maid) - Cornflower

Centaurea cyanus ‘Blue Maid’ is a charming dwarf cornflower producing masses of fully double cornflower-blue blooms above compact silvery-green foliage. Flowering continuously throughout summer, it provides long-lasting colour while attracting bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.

Its compact habit makes it ideal for border edges, patio containers, raised beds and wildlife-friendly planting schemes. It combines beautifully with poppies and cosmos for a traditional cottage garden look. Low maintenance and easy to grow, this variety thrives in poor to moderately fertile soils without the need for excessive feeding. Plant in full sun and well-drained soil, deadheading regularly to encourage repeat flowering and prolong displays.
