The teardrop chilli with a gentle, tangy warmth, Capsicum chinense ‘Biquinho Red’, is a distinctive and popular variety originating from Brazil, loved for its unique shape and mild flavour. The small, pointed fruits start green and mature to bright red from mid to late summer. With a very mild heat of around 500–1,000 Scoville units, they offer a light, tangy warmth that is perfect for pickling, snacking, or adding to salads and appetisers.

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil in a warm, sunny and sheltered position to support steady growth. Water regularly and feed throughout the growing season to encourage consistent fruiting, with minimal pruning required. A superb choice for eating, as its mild heat and attractive shape make it ideal for garnishes and sharing platters.
