The bold cherry chilli with a juicy, fiery bite, Capsicum annuum 'Large Red Cherry Hot', is a striking and productive variety originating from Central America, prized for its rounded fruits and satisfying heat. The peppers grow to around 4-5cm across, starting green and maturing to bright red from mid to late summer. Carrying a moderate heat, they deliver a warming kick that is perfect for stuffing or being infused into sauces.
Plant in fertile, well-drained soil in a warm, sunny and sheltered position to promote strong growth. Water regularly and feed consistently throughout the growing season to support fruit development, with light pruning if needed. A superb option for home gardeners, particularly well-suited to pickling and preserving, thanks to its thick flesh and shape.
