Availability: In stock

Chilli Peppers (Capsicum chinense) are fiery and highly productive vegetable plants. An especially intense member of our collection, 'Trinidad Scorpion is prized for its blistering heat, heavily wrinkled fruits and outstanding flavour. Producing small, deeply textured red chillies around 5cm long, this infamous variety regularly exceeds 1,000,000 SHU on the Scoville scale, placing it among the hottest peppers. Beneath the extreme heat lies a surprisingly fruity, sweet flavour that makes it popular for hot sauces and spicy cooking. Originally developed in Trinidad and Tobago, the 'Trinidad Scorpion ' gained worldwide fame after once holding the Guinness World Record for the hottest chilli pepper.

Thriving in fertile, well-drained soil, 'Trinidad Scorpion' grows best in a warm, sunny, sheltered position such as a greenhouse, conservatory, or sunny patio. Plants benefit from regular watering and feeding throughout the growing season to support strong growth and heavy fruiting from mid-summer into autumn. Staking may be required, while pruning nad remobing early flowers can help encourage bushier growth and larger harvests. Harvest fruits once fully red for maximum heat and flavour, taking care to wear gloves when handling due to intense capsaicin levels. Combining extreme heat and exotic flavour, Chilli Pepper Plant 'Triundiad Scorpion' is a thrilling choice for adventurous growers and chilli enthusiasts alike.

Supplied in approx. 9cm pots.
