Chilli Pepper Plant 'Vindaloo'
Availability: In stock
Chilli Peppers (Capsicum annuum) are vigorous and flavour-filled vegetable plants. A special member of our collection, Chilli Pepper Plant 'Vindaloo' is prized for its long, slender fruits, fiery heat and prolific harvests. producing twisted green chillies that mature to glossy deep red, the fruits typically grow to around 20cm long and deliver an intense heat level of 50,000+ SHU on the Scoville scale. Despite the punchy spice, 'Vindaloo' peppers also offer a rich, smoky flavour that makes them ideal for curries, stir-fries, drying and hot sauces. Inspired by the famously fiery Indian vindaloo curry, this variety is a favourite among chilli lovers looking for both heat and heavy-cropping performance.
Thriving in moist, well-drained soil, 'Vindaloo' grows best in a warm, sunny and sheltered position such as greenhouses, conservatories or sunny patios. Plants benefit from regular watering and feeding throughout the growing season to encourage strong growth and abundant fruiting from mid-summer into autumn. Taller plants may require staking once heavily laden with chillies, while light pinching of early shoots can encourage bushier growth and increased yields. Harvest fruits green for a fresher flavour or allow them to ripen fully red for maximum heat and sweetness. Combining dramatic appearance, reliable productivity and powerful heat, 'Vindaloo' is an exciting addition to any chilli collection or kitchen garden.
Supplied in approx. 9cm pots.
