Clematis 'Violet Elizabeth'
Clematis 'Violet Elizabeth' is a truly elegant large-flowered clematis, producing an abundance of fully double, soft blush-pink blooms from late spring to early summer, often followed by a second flush of semi-double or single flowers later in the season. The sumptuous, layered petals create a romantic, almost dahlia-like effect, making this variety a standout feature on trellises, obelisks, arches and garden walls. Its delicate colouring blends beautifully with both traditional cottage garden and contemporary planting schemes.
Growing to around 2-3m in height, 'Violet Elizabeth' is a compact climber that is well suited to smaller gardens and container growing. For the best display, plant where the flowers can enjoy sun while the roots remain cool and shaded. Regular watering during dry periods and a spring feed will encourage vigorous growth and prolific flowering. It requires only light pruning in late winter or early spring. Plant in fertile, moist, but well-drained soil and pair with climbing roses and lavender for a beautiful display of complementary colour, fragrance and long-lasting garden interest.
Supplied in approx. 2 litre containers.
