Cortaderia Red Mistral - Pampas Grass

Often called Red Pampas Grass, Cortaderia 'Red Mistral' is an ornamental grass with pinkish-red plumes and arching green foliage. The tall, feathery plumes, which bloom from late summer to autumn, will give any garden a dramatic height, texture, and pop of colour. This hardy, evergreen grass looks great as a stand-alone statement plant or as a focal point in large containers or borders.

Plant in well-drained soil in full sun. As the plant becomes drought-tolerant, watering should be reduced after the first growing season, when it is important to establish roots. To promote new growth, trim back the old foliage in late winter or early spring. For a unique garden display, combine with other ornamental grasses or flowering perennials like rudbeckia or echinacea.
