Cyperus alternifolius - Umberella Grass

An incredibly versatile aquatic plant that can be grown either as an attractive houseplant or as a tender planting in the margins of a pond.

Known as the Umbrella plant its long single stems grow from a crown have whirls of thin lanceolate leaves at their apex, when gathered together on mass they make for an impressive site rising out of the water. Its stems make great cover for aquatic wildlife such a fish and dragonfly.

Make sure this aquatic get a a nice sunny spot on your ponds edge, alternatively this plant makes a cracking houseplant, grow in a decent compost in a large pot sited in a sunny window position, easy to care for as it's impossible to overwater.
