Dahlia ‘Dutch Delight’ is a spectacular large-flowered variety, bursting with generously ruffled petals in a lively mix of coral, rose-pink, and soft peach tones. Its big, exuberant blooms bring a cheerful, informal charm to borders, cutting gardens, and floral displays. With tall, strong stems and an abundance of flowering power, it's perfect for adding volume and movement to late summer borders. Ideal for cutting, simply snip stems as the blooms open fully to enjoy their colour and texture indoors.

‘Dutch Delight’ delivers long-lasting, abundant blooms from midsummer to the first frost. Plant in full sun in well-drained, fertile soil, and remove spent flowers to encourage more growth.

Supplied as tubers, the best time to plant is in April and May. To plant them, dig a hole at least 20-30cm square and around 20-30cm deep for each one. Cover the base of the hole with 10cms of compost, or manure and give it a good dousing with a full watering can and then plant the dahlia at a depth of 15-20cm. You will need a stout stake, not just a bamboo cane, to support each plant and it is a good idea to knock this in first and then place the plant by its side. It will need to be lifted in winter - once the foliage dies back simply dig it up and store in a cool, frost free location.
