Dahlia ‘Natal’ is a stunning pompon dahlia known for its perfectly rounded, tightly packed blooms in a rich, velvety crimson red. Each flower forms a near-perfect sphere made up of neatly arranged petals, giving it a highly structured and elegant appearance. The compact, symmetrical flowers stand proudly on upright stems above fresh green foliage, creating a bold and refined display in borders, containers, and cutting gardens. Flowering continuously from midsummer until the first frosts, ‘Natal’ is particularly valued for its long-lasting blooms and exceptional performance as a cut flower.
Plant tubers in groups of 3–5 for the best visual impact, spacing them approximately 45–60cm apart and planting around 10–15cm deep in fertile, well-drained soil. Choose a sunny, sheltered position to encourage strong growth and abundant flowering. Dahlia ‘Natal’ pairs beautifully with other summer-flowering bulbs such as gladiolus, lilies and begonias, which help extend the display and create a rich, layered planting scheme with contrasting shapes and textures.
