Dahlia ‘Rainbow Silence’ is a small-flowered decorative variety, bursting with fiery colour from its golden-yellow centre to its rich raspberry-pink tips. Each perfectly shaped bloom features delicately layered petals that transition beautifully in tone, creating a glowing, sunset-like effect that brightens borders, containers, and cutting gardens. Its compact form and upright stems make it easy to grow and ideal for smaller spaces or floral arrangements. Snip the blooms as they open to enjoy their cheerful gradient indoors.
Flowering from midsummer to the first frost, ‘Rainbow Silence’ adds a radiant and joyful touch to any garden. Plant in full sun in well-drained, fertile soil, and remove spent flowers to encourage more growth.

Supplied as tubers, the best time to plant is in April and May. To plant them, dig a hole at least 20-30cm square and around 20-30cm deep for each one. Cover the base of the hole with 10cms of compost, or manure and give it a good dousing with a full watering can and then plant the dahlia at a depth of 15-20cms. You will need a stout stake, not just a bamboo cane, to support each plant and it is a good idea to knock this in first and then place the plant by its side. It will need to be lifted in winter - once the foliage dies back simply dig it up and store in a cool, frost free location.
