Damson Tree - Farleigh Bush (Julien A)

Product ref: T28362

Availability: Out of stock

Farleigh Damson is a traditional, heavy-cropping damson variety, prized for its small, dark purple fruits packed with rich, tangy flavour, perfect for jams, chutneys, and cooking. It produces reliable yields even in cooler or less-than-ideal conditions, making it a favourite for gardens across the UK. In spring, it also offers a lovely display of white blossom, attracting pollinators. Farleigh Damson is self-fertile and easy to grow, ideal for both beginners and experienced gardeners. Prune after fruiting in late summer to maintain shape and reduce the risk of disease. Grow with Victoria for a rich variety of flavours and extended harvesting.

Supplied in approx. 12 litre containers grafted on Julien A rootstock, which produces a tree significantly smaller than a tree growing on its own roots, reaching an ultimate height of around 2m. After three to four years, plum trees typically bear fruit and will be of pickable height.

The primary intended use of this plant is to grow food for human consumption.

There are thousands of different plant species that can be consumed, and our extensive range is no exception. We have conveniently listed a large number of edible plants here. Additionally, we have compiled several articles and handy recipes for some of the plants you are less likely to find in supermarkets.

We always recommend conducting your own research before consuming any plant to understand the various ways different varieties can be prepared and consumed. Be mindful of potential allergies when trying anything new and ensure it is suitable for all who may be consuming it.

Some plants or varieties can also be cultivated as animal feed for livestock, such as poultry, game, and livestock reared for consumption. Again, we advise doing your own research to select the most appropriate plants for your livestock.
