Deutzia scabra ‘Plena’ is a beautiful deciduous flowering shrub renowned for its elegant arching branches smothered in clusters of double white flowers, often flushed with soft pink. Blooming profusely from late spring into early summer, this cottage garden favourite creates a spectacular display that brightens borders and amazingly fills empty corners. Its fresh green foliage provides a lovely backdrop to the delicate blooms, making it an excellent choice for mixed shrub borders, informal hedging and wildlife-friendly gardens.
Growing to approx. 2m in height and spread, ‘Plena’ develops into a graceful, fountain-shaped shrub with excellent garden presence. It is easy to grow and low maintenance, requiring only the removal of old flowered stems after blooming to encourage new growth and maintain its attractive shape. Plant in full sun or partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil.
