Dichromena colorata - Star Grass

Dichromena colorata, or star grass, is a distinctive and lovely perennial that lends a touch of refinement to damp garden spaces. This plant is well-known for its unusual white bracts, which bloom from summer to autumn and resemble tiny star-shaped flowers. The starry bracts are starkly contrasted with the tidy clump of bright green, grass-like foliage.

Plant in full sun to partial shade in well-drained, moist to wet soil. Because star grass grows best in continuously moist environments, it's perfect for borders, water gardens, and marshy places. To maintain constant moisture in the soil, water it frequently. Although it doesn't need much care, pruning off any faded bracts will keep the plant looking its best.
