Enkianthus campanulatus, also known as the Red Vein Enkianthus, is a striking deciduous shrub admired for its clusters of delicate, bell-shaped, creamy flowers veined with red, appearing in late spring to early summer. In autumn, it steals the show with brilliant scarlet, orange, and crimson foliage, making it one of the finest shrubs for seasonal colour. At around 80-100cm, this large specimen provides instant impact.

Plant in partial shade or sun in acidic, moist, well-drained soil. Low-maintenance and slow-growing, it’s perfect for woodland gardens, mixed borders, or as a statement shrub in smaller spaces. Pairs beautifully with azaleas, camellias, and Japanese maples. This variety of Enkianthus campanulatus really stands our with its pendant, creamy yellow bells, tinted with pink, from late spring to early summer.
