Eryngium Lapis Blue - Eryingium - Blue Sea Holly
Availability: In stock
A very striking form of sea holly with heads of snowflake-like prickly bracts surrounding a bold blue cone, all over prickly green and white foliage. Initially steel blue in colour when they open in mid summer, the flower heads mature to deep blue before fading to buff.
Showcase this striking perennial in your garden and allow its architectural form to do the talking or perhaps combine it with other perennials such as Erigeron, Scabious or Stachys to contrast different forms and textures within your borders. Much beloved by bees and pollinators, you can cut back the faded flowers to encourage further blooming but they will stay upright into winter and look amazing kissed by frost plus feed the birds. Thriving in a free draining and even poor soil in full sun, they are a popular stalwart coastal gardens too.
Supplied in approx. 2-3 litre containers.
