Eucalyptus gunnii - Large Cider Gum

A magnificent tree after several years, or a superb shrub if kept trimmed, with flaking bark in shades of grey, cream, green and brown. It has silvery-blue, rounded leaves and is probably the most well-known gum in the UK, often seen growing in many gardens and even used as pot plants in park displays.

It thrives in full light and well-drained soil. Once grown, it is drought-tolerant and ideal for sheltered, open areas. Prune yearly to keep a compact form. Ideal as a focal piece or cultivated in a large container in smaller gardens. Combine with grasses or perennials to create a soft, organic planting style.
