Euonymus fortunei 'Colour Beauty'
Availability: In stock
Euonymus fortunei ‘Colour Beauty’ is a smart little evergreen that proves you don’t need flowers to put on a good show. Its small, rounded leaves are deep green through the centre, picked out with irregular creamy-white margins that give the whole plant a fresh, lightly frosted appearance.
Compact and densely branched, it makes an excellent choice for bringing permanent structure to borders, edging paths or filling containers where year-round interest is important. The pale variegation also helps lift darker planting schemes and looks particularly effective alongside richer greens.
Like other evergreen Euonymus fortunei, ‘Colour Beauty’ is a dependable, adaptable shrub that asks for very little fuss once established. It can be clipped to maintain a neat outline or allowed to develop a more relaxed, naturally bushy shape, making it an easy-going addition to gardens large and small.

Grow in full sun or partial shade, in moist but well-drained soil. Euonymus fortunei is adaptable to a wide range of soil types, although permanently waterlogged ground should be avoided. Variegated forms generally perform best with reasonable light, as deep shade can result in weaker, less attractively coloured growth. Water regularly while newly planted and during prolonged dry spells, especially when growing in a container. Established plants need little maintenance beyond an occasional trim to keep them dense and tidy. If any completely green shoots appear, prune these out promptly to preserve the variegated display.
Euonymus fortunei has an interesting trick up its sleeve. Although many cultivars are grown as compact shrubs or ground cover, the species can also behave rather like a climber. When stems meet a suitable wall or other support, they can eventually produce aerial roots and attach themselves, allowing the plant to spread upwards as well as outwards.
