Peonies (Paeonia) are a classic garden plant that no garden should be with out, they are the perfect long lived perennial for garden borders, flowering reliably every year.

The ancient Greeks named the peony after Paeon, the physician of the Greek gods. In Chinese culture, the peony is called the Emperor Flower.
