Fagus sylvatica purpurea pendula 'Purple Fountain' - Weeping Copper Purple Beech Tree
Availability: Out of stock
‘Purple Fountain’ distinguishes itself from a standard beech tree with its deep purple foliage and weeping crown! In spring, the leaves emerge a red-bronze, gradually progressing to a burgundy-purple throughout the summer. This is accompanied by a smooth reddish-brown bark which will mature into a beautiful silver-grey as the tree ages. This amazing beech adds colour and texture, not commonly found in the summer, with its glossy foliage contrasting beautifully against green lawns and bright border plants.
Its form makes it a great architectural plant, so we recommend planting it at the back of a border or lawn, but it is equally striking in a pot. Grow this in moist, well-drained soil and in full sun. Allow it plenty of room to grow into, and don’t worry it will thrive in both sheltered and exposed gardens.
Supplied in approx. 12 litre containers.
