Ficus carica 'Morena' is a reliable and productive fig variety, well-suited to cooler climates. It produces medium to large, pear-shaped fruits with deep purple skin and sweet, succulent pink-red flesh, ready to harvest from late summer into early autumn. As well as providing delicious fruit, its broad, lobed leaves and Mediterranean feel make it highly ornamental in the garden.

Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot in well-drained soil, ideally against a south-facing wall. Water regularly in dry spells and mulch in spring. Perfect for borders, large containers, or training as a fan against walls. Ideal for edible gardens with a touch of the exotic.
