This fig tree is a gorgeous addition to any garden with its beautiful ornamental qualities and delicious fruits. ‘Violette de Sollies’ produces dark (almost black) figs from late summer; they are sweet and ready to eat from the tree once ripe. This is a deciduous tree, so the lovely green foliage will fall for the winter and make its return in the spring.
Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil, ideally against a south-facing wall. Water in dry spells and mulch annually. Perfect for borders, large containers, or trained as a fan against walls. Ideal for Mediterranean-style and edible gardens.
