Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hameln' - Fountain Grass
Availability: Out of stock
Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hameln' is an attractive ornamental grass which forms a compact, densely tufted clump of dark green leaves, turning yellow in autumn. From mid-summer into autumn, it produces bristly, greenish-white flower spikes that gradually mature to a soft grey-brown, creating movement and texture in the garden for months on end. Compact and elegant in habit, this popular fountain grass is especially suited to prairie, contemporary and wildlife-friendly garden styles.
Perfect for mixed borders, gravel gardens or large containers, it pairs beautifully with rudbeckia and echinacea for a relaxed, naturalistic display. A standout feature is its exceptionally low-maintenance nature, requiring little more than the removal of dead foliage in spring to keep it looking its best. Plant in well-drained soil in full sun, where it will provide reliable structure, softness and seasonal interest years after year.
Supplied in approx 2-3 litre containers.
